The Nigeria Police Force National Centre for Cyber Crimes has apprehended Ubani Zion, popularly known as ZFancy, a Nigerian prankster and social media influencer. His arrest occurred on July 3, following accusations on social media that he was involved in rituals.
The incident unfolded when entertainer Dami Adenuga shared a video on June 16, 2024. In the video, a woman identifying herself as Kokina accused ZFancy of ritualistic activities while searching for her missing friend. Adenuga’s post prompted the Nigeria Police to advise the woman to report to the nearest police station immediately.
The official police response emphasized the seriousness of the allegations and urged cooperation from the public. The Force Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed ZFancy’s arrest, which came after accusatory videos circulated online, alleging heinous crimes, including rape. These videos caused significant concern among social media users1.
